Torii Hunter knew how to track down a baseball. The former Minnesota Twins, Los Angeles Angels and Detroit Tigers outfielder won nine Gold Glove awards in a 19-year career, and he was known for making sparkling over-the-shoulder catches. Sometimes, he’d even rip home run balls away from the game’s best hitters.
Notre Dame receiver Torii Hunter Jr. channeled his dad with a spring game catch
The Notre Dame receiver would probably make a good outfielder, just like his dad.

Hunter retired after last season. But his son, Torii Hunter Jr., is still carrying on the family’s tradition of chasing down balls and catching them. He’s a receiver for Notre Dame, and the former four-star recruit had a beauty in the Irish’s spring game on Saturday.
It doesn’t count for anything, of course, but that’s a pretty impressive one-handed grab by Hunter. And it’s hard not to think he might have learned a thing or two about keeping his eye on the ball from his pops.
Consider the evidence:
Dad didn’t have a cornerback chasing him, so the youngster’s catch is much more impressive.
