In the latest round of conference realignment, geography is a factor that has taken on less and less importance. For the dozen-plus prospective Big 12 additions, it's gone pretty much out the window, so much so that the number of potential Big 12 schools out there covers enough states to nearly win the dang presidential election.
The electoral map of Big 12 candidates is almost enough to win the election
The big question is how will the Big 12 vote? Get it?

That’s prospective candidates covering a range from Connecticut to California, and includes states in all four time zones in the contiguous United States. And as you can see from the map above, these states would pile up nearly enough electoral votes to seal the election. We just need a rumor about Buffalo going to the Big 12 to put this thing to bed in August. That would be fine.
