Georgia vs. Missouri 2016: Start time, live stream, TV schedule and 3 things to know

One of the first “big” games of the SEC East will be this Saturday as Missouri takes on Georgia at home to open conference play. In the all-time series history with Missouri, Georgia leads it 4-1. Before the Tigers
joined the Southeastern Conference in 2012, they had faced Georgia just one time, in the 1960 Orange Bowl, which the Bulldogs won in a 14-0 shutout in the 1960 Orange Bowl. Last season, the Dawgs won an ugly 9-6 one in Athens.

Georgia is coming off of a close, near-upset from Nicholls State at home, which they eventually edged out, 26-24. Running back Nick Chubb was held to just 86 yards in the contest, and quarterback Jacob Eason, who notched his first career start last week, was benched in the fourth quarter after throwing a costly interception. The previous week Georgia beat North Carolina, 33-24, in Atlanta.

Missouri opened its season against West Virginia and lost, 26-11. They rebounded and beat Eastern Michigan, 61-21, last Saturday.

TV: 7:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network. Brent Musburger will have play-by-play; Jesse Palmer (color analyst) and Kaylee Hartung will be on the sideline.

1. Who will start at quarterback for Georgia? Georgia head coach Kirby Smart has yet to name a starter heading into the backend of game week, so it sounds like this could be a game time decision. One thing’s for sure about Georgia’s QB situation -- both guys are on pretty tight leashes. Eason came in as early as the second quarter against North Carolina in week one, and as we mentioned, Greyson Lambert came in in the fourth for Eason. I wouldn’t be surprised if Lambert, who started in all but one game last year, gets the road start, but we will certainly see Eason on Saturday.

2. Missouri has a young offense, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t good. Mizzou played seven first-time starters on offense in the 26-11 loss to West Virginia to open the season. Sophomore Drew Lock was 23-for-51 for 280 yards, all career highs, but, the Tigers scored only twice in five red zone opportunities. Lock currently leads the SEC in total offense, averaging 380 yards a game.

3. We’ll likely see if Georgia is for real against Missouri. Nothing does this better than an in-conference road test. The Dawgs looked like a completely different team from the UNC win to the Nicholls State near-disaster, so this contest should show us who the Dawgs really are this season.
