Georgia vs. Ole Miss 2016 odds: Rebels favored to break 10-game UGA streak

The Ole Miss Rebels are set as betting favorites as they try to beat the Georgia Bulldogs for the first time in 10 games this Saturday in Oxford.

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

The Ole Miss Rebels are 0-10 straight up and 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games against the Georgia Bulldogs. The Rebels will try to end a 19-year slump against the Bulldogs this Saturday afternoon at home.

Ole Miss is a 7-point favorite in Oxford at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Mississippi is 7-0 SU in its last seven games coming off a loss in its previous game.

The Rebels are off to a disappointing 1-2 SU and ATS start, but part of that can simply be attributed to a brutal opening schedule. The defense being unable to hold on to leads is also to blame as Ole Miss saw a 28-13 lead over Florida State disappear in a 45-34 loss and a 24-3 lead crumble in its 48-43 loss to Alabama.

The Rebels have averaged 38.3 points per game through the first three games of the season, but the defense will have to be better for the Rebels moving forward.

In their last 10 games at home, the Rebels are 8-2 SU and 7-3 ATS per the OddsShark College Football Database.

Betting Line / Total: Ole Miss -7 / 62 Points

Trend: Georgia is 10-0 SU in its last 10 games against Mississippi.

Trend: Ole Miss is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games at home.

Georgia has opened its season with a 3-0 SU record, but it hasn’t picked up many style points in doing so.

After a solid performance in a 33-24 win over North Carolina in its season opener, the Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a 26-24 home win over Nicholls State as a 53.5-point favorite and also edged out a 28-27 road win over Missouri last Saturday as a 7-point favorite. The Bulldogs are 15-1 SU in their last 16 games played in Week 4.

Saturday’s total is set at 62 points. The UNDER is 7-1 in the last eight meetings between Georgia and Ole Miss.

While Mississippi’s offense will likely have success at home, the key to how close this game will be could come down to how well the Rebels can defend Nick Chubb. Ole Miss has been gouged for 242.7 rushing yards per game so far this season, while Chubb is averaging 5.1 yards per carry and has a 222-yard rushing performance under his belt against North Carolina.

This game could quickly turn into a shootout if Ole Miss doesn’t have an answer for Georgia’s star back.
