Dabo Swinney lost his mind after a no-call on a pass interference

He was pretty heated.

In the fourth quarter of the National Championship between Alabama and Clemson, the Tigers had the ball and needed to make something happen on offense, trailing by three. On first down from Clemson’s own 32 yard line, Deshaun Watson attempted to make a throw to his receiver, Mike Williams. It appeared as though there could be a pass interference called against Bama’s Anthony Averett, who was defending Williams. It wasn’t called, and Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney proceeded to go off on the referee near Clemson’s sideline.

Here’s a look at the no-call — it appears that Averett didn’t quite have his head turned around by the time the ball got to Williams.

Clemson had to punt on the possession, so if this PI was indeed called, it would have given the Tigers a first down and a chance to keep the drive going.
