On Tuesday, the Alabama football team’s official Twitter account sent out a video that raised more questions than answers:
11 questions about a 3-second video of Nick Saban riding a tiny motorized cart
Let’s Zapruder this thing.

That’s a man riding on some sort of miniature go-kart.
PAUSE.
ROLL TAPE.
ENHANCE.
A LITTLE MORE.
That’s Nick Saban.
There are a lot of things I’d like to know here, and I’m not just talking about the make and model of whatever Saban’s riding. My questions:
- Did Saban know he’d be videotaped as he rode this device?
- If he didn’t know, what happened to the person who posted this video afterward?
- If he did know, how was he convinced to allow it?
- Was this the first take?
- If it wasn’t the first take, how many times did Saban need to practice this “stop on a dime on a child’s go-kart” maneuver before executing it to perfection?
- When exactly was this video taken?
- Could Saban have been watching film during this time?
- If yes, why wasn’t he watching film?
- How many of Alabama’s 832 football support staffers inspected this thing for safety before Saban rode it?
- Did an intern have to ride it first?
- If yes, what’s that intern’s current medical status?
No. 1 Alabama plays Arkansas on Saturday in Tuscaloosa (7:15 p.m. ET, ESPN). In the last nine years, Bama has beaten Arkansas by a margin of 340-112. My bet is that every Alabama player could spend this entire game riding a similar scooter around the field and not being allowed to walk, and the Tide would still win by at least 28 points.
