The Georgia Bulldogs are rolling toward an SEC Championship Game bid after blowing through its opening slate with a 6-0 record. A 1-4 Missouri Tigers team will try to be more than just another speed bump on that road. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on the SEC Network (live stream).

The Bulldogs are one of the NCAA’s hottest teams — and Mizzou may not stand a chance.

The Bulldogs’ potent rushing attack was last seen carving up Vanderbilt to the tune of 7.8 yards per carry in a 45-14 victory. Missouri, on the other hand, has only beaten FCS Missouri State this fall. In three SEC games, the Tigers have been outscored 122-61.

Missouri at Georgia news:
- If Georgia makes it to the College Football Playoff this winter, a familiar face could be waiting:
- Missouri’s moral victory was nice and all, but head coach Barry Odom needs actual wins:
Week 6 and Missouri football is sitting at a disappointing 1-4 after losing a nail-biter on the road to Kentucky 40-34. Barry Odom’s Tigers appeared to show some progress after regrouping during the bye week but ultimately it wasn’t enough to earn his first road win.
- Last week’s win over Vanderbilt suggests UGA can win in the SEC without a quarterback:
The Red and Black rolled up 423 rushing yards enroute to a 45-14 SEC East win that was never really in doubt. Georgia (6-0, 3-0 SEC) mounted a 7 play, 83 yard drive to start the game, never going to the air once. Vanderbilt, depleted by a series of physical football games, never found an answer for the road graders from Athens or the punishing backs who kept following them.
After postgame video review and discussion with the on-field officials, it was determined the officials did not see the ball dislodged by an opposing player as the Missouri receiver attempted to return the ball directly to the official. Had that action been seen by the officials in real time, the clock would have been stopped at approximately 0:16 seconds and restarted on the ready for play signal.
Can Missouri’s brief display of offensive competence sustain?
In three FBS games before last week’s showdown with Kentucky, Missouri scored 30 combined points. In Lexington, it put up 34 in a comeback effort that proved the Tigers would not go away quietly. Drew Lock had his best performance of the season against an FBS team with 355 yards and three touchdowns. He added a rushing TD as well. If Mizzou is going to put up a fight in Athens, he’ll have to be just as good Saturday.
Missouri at Georgia prediction:
Mizzou played better than expected to push Kentucky to its limits last week in a six-point loss. Georgia, however, is at least two standard deviations better than the Wildcats. Expect the Bulldogs to roll at home Saturday night.
