Texas A&M vs. Florida 2017 live stream: How to watch online

The Florida Gators (3-2) have fallen out of the Top 25 after another sluggish loss, and they’ll look to get back on track at home when they host the Texas A&M Aggies (4-2) at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2 (WatchESPN).

Despite a painfully anemic offense, the Gators held a 3-1 record last week when they played LSU, which was coming off an embarrassing home loss to Troy. However, Florida once again struggled to score points, and the defense could only do so much without any support. The Gators fell in an uninspiring 17-16 loss.

With Georgia emerging as the clear favorite in the SEC East, Florida badly needs a win with the crucial Cocktail Party game looming in two weeks. That will be easier said than done against Texas A&M, which went the distance with Alabama and has a lot to be positive about right now.

The Aggies have been playing well ever since blowing a massive lead to UCLA in the season opener. They won four straight games and gave Alabama a good fight last week, coming back from a 24-3 deficit for a more respectable-looking 27-19 loss. The SEC West is probably unwinnable with the Tide rolling and Auburn dominating, but Kevin Sumlin’s team should be well on its way to bowl eligibility. Whether another seven- or eight-win season is enough to save his job remains to be seen.

You want a really, deeply depressing truth about these uniforms? If Florida was undefeated and No. 1 in the nation, no one would be all that upset about the uniforms, because they would be largely irrelevant to Florida’s success — but the Gators being largely irrelevant to the national title picture gives these uniforms much of their utility, and gives us fans plenty of time to critique all that emerges from The Swamp.

This team has shown an increasing amount of grit and resolve since the UCLA game, and tonight was proof that this is a different team than the one that fell apart in Los Angeles. We’re halfway through the season with trips to The Swamp and Baton Rouge left. A very good Auburn team comes to Kyle in November. We could win any of these games. Hold your head up. Since September of 2016, there’s only been two teams get within one score of Alabama: the first was when Clemson beat them in the national title game in January, and the second was us, just tonight.

Florida’s defense always shows up to play, which keeps the Gators competitive even if their offense doesn’t get off the bus. We’ll see if that’s enough to hold off the Aggies’ high-octane offense, but let’s give the slight edge to the home team here. This game could come down to whichever team has the ball last.
