Texas Tech and West Virginia got festivities going with some shovin’ before kickoff

At least the third time the Eers have been involved in one of these tangles in a Big 12 game in the past year.

From College GameDay’s check-in at Texas Tech-West Virginia, a nice jawin’ and snappin’ and jostlin’ match taking place about a half hour before the kick:

That video shows a pretty standard pregame skirmish, and it’s interesting how it’s much easier to notice these things when they happen in the noon games, since those are the only games all Saturday that tend to get extended pregame views on ESPN.

I can’t say which team was the aggressor here, but WVU’s also gotten in a few of these dustups since joining the Big 12.

The Mountaineers don’t really have any official Big 12 rivalries yet, but it seems like they’re on the right track to building up some relationships.
