This season hasn’t been great for 2-3 Florida State. But when you look at it, the margin for error between 2-3 and 0-5 is that of the Hail Mary.
Both of Florida State’s wins this season are thanks to defended Hail Marys
The Noles get their second win of the season, but it wasn’t pretty.

Against Wake Forest, it came down to this:
And against Duke, things came down to this:
FSU was on the ropes against Duke tied at 10 in the fourth quarter. James Blackman wasn’t terrible on the day, but this pick was a pretty bad ball.
Florida State was going for win No. 2, and Duke was going for win No. 5 in the bizarro world of today’s ACC. Florida State went into halftime leading by only seven, and it was somehow the biggest lead the Noles have had all season.
Duke had never beaten FSU coming into the game.
The Seminoles are 19-0 in the all-time series, outscoring Duke 946-286. Two of those victories, in 2006 and 2007, were vacated.
FSU has scored under 41 points just twice, in a 25-6 victory back in 2007 and a 29-7 win in 2004. The ’Noles average 49.8 points per game. In comparison, Duke averages just over 15 points per game and have never scored more then 26 points.
After losing to Miami last week, it would have been be the second snapped streak against an ACC opponent.
