Washington State fans in Pullman got to kick off their weekend with a hard-fought 30-27 upset victory over the No. 5 USC Trojans. The win is one of the biggest in Wazzu history, and Cougars fans poured onto the field afterwards to celebrate.
After Washington State beat USC, Pullman had at least 8 different couch fires
Pullman was literally lit.

Cougars head coach Mike Leach told reporters after the game that the crowd and scene on the field was “like Woodstock except everybody’s got their clothes on.”
After the game, the celebration continued into the streets of Pullman, Wash.
Wazzu fans wanted the special night to be literally lit, and they began lighting couches on fire in the streets. A RedditCFB user noticed that the Pullman Police Department responded to a whopping 15 reports of couch fires early Saturday morning.
When looking at the full incident log from Friday night and Saturday morning on the police department’s website, 13 couch fire reports were responded to, eight of them with different addresses.
Wazzu fans aren’t the only ones who have lit fires after big victories, oh no.
West Virginia fans burn couches so often that the state made outdoor furniture illegal two years ago.
And after Michigan State upset upset Ohio State a couple of years ago, Spartan fans built snow penises and burnt couches in the streets.
