Louisville beat Florida State on Saturday in Tallahassee, 31-28. Lamar Jackson led a 64-yard drive to set up the winning field goal with five seconds left, after Florida State QB James Blackman fumbled the ball to the Cardinals at UL’s 24-yard line.

Jackson did it to the Noles again.
The Seminoles had come back from a 28-14 fourth-quarter deficit and were poised to win before that. But they lost on Blanton Creque’s 34-yard kick and fell to 2-4. (They also got a transitive loss to Boston College, which won in Louisville a week earlier.)
Don’t let the late-game drama distract from the key point here: Jackson shredded Florida State’s defense. Jackson had 178 rushing yards and a touchdown on 23 carries, and in the passing game, he was 13-of-21 for 156 yards and another score.

That run was on a designed option read. Later, Jackson turned on the jets again and hit up FSU for 51 yards on a scramble, after the Noles probably thought they had him.

Only three guys really miss him, but nobody gets anywhere close to tackling him until he’s like 40 yards into his jaunt. Jackson isn’t even approaching stoppable.
Jackson’s national emergence a year ago was against this same FSU.
It came in a 63-20 win in Louisville, when the Cardinals entered ranked No. 13 and the Seminoles were No. 2. Jackson had four touchdowns and 146 yards on 17 carries, along with his 13-of-20 passing day for 216 yards, a touchdown, and a 162 rating.

Jackson’s dominance of FSU stretches back to his freshman season in 2015. Jackson threw three touchdowns in Tallahassee that year and went over 300 passing yards for the first time in his career.
The teams’ meeting last year was when Jackson became the clear Heisman frontrunner, and he never let that status go. Louisville isn’t as good this year, but Jackson’s still amazing, and these are not good times for Jimbo Fisher’s program.
