Do not adjust your TV guides. The Kansas Jayhawks (the bad football team) are playing TCU (an actually good football team) on over the air FOX, while the New York Yankees (one of the most popular sports franchises on planet earth) play on cable in a game which will decide one of the teams in the World Series.
Kansas is on national television against TCU because FOX wants baseball ratings for the ALCS
It’s all about business, folks.

It’s kinda funny given the Jayhawks are 1-5, but make no mistake, this is about TV ratings.
The broadcast schedule had six of seven possible league championship series games on FS1. The channel’s in about 84 million homes, and FOX Sports is in an eternal ratings battle with ESPN for all of its live sports content. FOX’s live rights to the Major League Baseball are very valuable. Putting the ALCS on FS1, especially with the Yankees playing, means casual baseball sports fans will be watching FS1 tonight.
This also will make the Big 12 happy because a not-so-great game gets in front of as many eyes as humanly possible. This one’s a win-win for everyone.
