Two ranked teams will face off in one of the biggest matchups on Saturday, as the No. 25 Iowa State Cyclones will host the No. 4 TCU Horned Frogs. The game will take place on ABC and ESPN2 beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET (live streaming via WatchESPN).

TCU dominated its first four Big 12 opponents by an average of three-plus touchdowns, and they are favorites to make it through Iowa State. But it’s not a gimmie match by any means, and the Cyclones have looked their best in their most recent outings.

Iowa State is 5-2 on the season, with 30-plus points in their last three games, all wins. The Cyclones did fall to Iowa in Week 2 and Texas two weeks later, but their recent winning streak does include a 38-31 victory over then-No. 3 Oklahoma.

TCU is 7-0 on the year, with a win over then-No. 6 Oklahoma State and then-No. 23 West Virginia in their third and fourth games, respectively. Since then, they have posted a 26-0 win over Kansas State and a 43-0 win over Kansas. In their remaining schedule, they will face No. 10 Oklahoma, but things are fairly clear beyond that.

And that makes Saturday’s game against Iowa State one of the most important games remaining on its schedule. Obviously, Oklahoma is the biggest name remaining, but stumbling against Iowa State on Saturday could be huge for its future.

Below, you can find all the viewing information for Saturday’s game, as well as odds, news, predictions, and more.

  • Odds: TCU opened as 7-point favorites

TCU vs. Iowa State news:

With three straight ranked opponents on the schedule, it is possible that progress doesn’t make its appearance to the naked eye. Remember, other college football teams (excluding Kansas) are improving as well. Ninety-nine percent of us would have taken six wins and a bowl trip for this team. While a 1-4 finish would be hard to stomach, it is entirely possible and still accomplishes the goal of playing a 13th game.

On the bright side, it is entirely possible Iowa State knocks off the fourth-ranked team in the nation, TCU, this Saturday in Ames. Crazier things have happened. Vegas doesn’t think it is too far-fetched by tabbing the Horned Frogs a small 7-point favorite. Win this game and Cyclone fans can start making preliminary plans for Dallas, Texas on Dec. 2.

TCU vs. Iowa State prediction:

Kenny Hill is playing well for TCU and hasn’t thrown an interception in his last 100 pass attempts. He’s on pace to break school records, and he should be able to lead the Horned Frogs past Iowa State on Saturday. We’re going with TCU without any serious reservations in doing so.
