With a loss to Clemson already on its resume, Auburn probably can’t afford another defeat if it wants to keep its College Football Playoff hopes alive. They certainly can’t afford one against a sputtering Ole Miss program. The Tigers and Rebels will meet on Saturday in an SEC West showdown; kickoff is scheduled for noon ET and will be broadcast live on the SEC Network (live stream).
Ole Miss vs. Auburn 2017 live stream: Start time, TV channel, and how to watch online
The Tigers are streaking — and Ole Miss isn’t having the kind of year to stop them.

Auburn recovered from a 14-6 loss to the defending national champions with three straight wins, including a pair of SEC wins with a 100-24 aggregate score the past two weeks. Ole Miss may just be another fly on its windshield after an uninspiring 2-2 start in which the team’s only beaten South Alabama and Tennessee-Martin. The Rebels are still reeling from a 66-3 stomping at the hands of Alabama -- and now they’ve got to deal with that other Yellowhammer State powerhouse.

Ole Miss at Auburn news:
- It’s OK to talk yourself into trusting Auburn...for now.
The SEC is still on top, though it’s only by a margin of “we have Alabama, and you don’t.”
The main story here might be how close all the conferences are. Each has at least two teams in the top 15; the Big Ten has four, the Pac-12 has two, and the others each have three.
- The Alabama PA system ripped on Ole MIss’s NCAA problems by playing “Money for Nothing” during last week’s rout.
This is a not-so-subtle jab at the fact that Ole Miss paid money to football recruits in an NCAA scandal that is still ongoing. It’s directly related to Mississippi State linebacker Leo Lewis, who boosters at Ole Miss (and other schools) paid but were not able to land.
- Last week’s destruction of Mississippi State was the kind of confidence-building win Auburn needed.
Tonight was a glimpse of what I think we all expected our Tigers to look like this season. Offense was variable and less predictable leading to very balanced stat sheet. Stidham looked much more comfortable and composed in the pocket. Defense was what we know and love. Fast, physical, dominant.
Can the Rebels shock the SEC (and eliminate another SEC contender from the national title race)?
The SEC has earned plenty of well-deserved criticism the past two years for having Alabama at the top and precious few national title contenders behind them. Auburn looks like it could fill that void, but the Tigers will have to get past the Rebels first. Ole Miss has been bad in 2017 — a 93-19 aggregate score against Power 5 opponents bears that out -- but it would be par for the course for Mississippi to throw the SEC into further chaos with an upset win.
Ole Miss at Auburn prediction:
Auburn’s one-possession loss to Clemson looks better every week. Comparatively, nothing about Mississippi’s season has looked good at all. The Tigers win this one without much trouble.
