Auburn’s tiger mascot just made fun of Ole Miss by dressing up as a shark

OK so here’s Auburn tiger mascot Aubie, dressed up as a shark while leading Auburn’s band during an on-field demolition of Ole Miss:

The day before, Ole Miss announced it’s changing its sideline mascot from Rebel the Bear to a yet-to-be-designed Landshark, in honor of the team’s defensive tradition.

Aubie is a costume-friendly mascot, and has even broken out the shark suit before in a game not involving sharks at all:

But it’s a pretty funny coincidence, if absolutely nothing else.

So it’s clear Aubie likes to dress up, but we’ll definitely encourage getups that happen to point out the other team’s defensive heritage isn’t exactly holding up at the time.
