There’s so much going on during this bonkers 48-yard TD catch by TCU’s QB

It’s beautiful, though it’s a lot to process.

Kenny Hill is TCU’s quarterback, but he might as well also be a running back and receiver rolled into one player, because this is just devastating:

That goes in the books as a 48-yard touchdown catch for the senior QB. The pass came from a receiver, KaVontae Turpin, and part of the reason the play worked is deception. Another part is that Hill’s an outrageous athlete who didn’t get tackled in the open field by the only guy who had the best shot at him because of that move. It’s sort of a cutback/spin hybrid, and there’s nothing to be done about it.

Quarterbacks catching touchdown passes is good. Quarterbacks clowning defensive backs with “beginner level on Madden” spin moves and then scoring from 48 yards out is even better. That’s my favorite play of Saturday so far.

It gave the Horned Frogs a 24-17 lead, which they’d carry into the fourth quarter.
