2 years in a row, Florida players mobbed former head coach Will Muschamp with hugs and smiles

This is so great.

Thanks to South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp’s team being in the SEC East, he has to face his former team each and every year. The former Florida coach got his first win over his former school on Saturday with the Gamecocks’ 28-20 victory over the Gators at Williams-Brice Stadium.

After the victory, Muschamp greeted some of his former players who are still at Florida with warm hugs and smiles.

“You can’t put a,” Muschamp said after the game before trailing off, via SEC Country. “The relationships you have with players — it’s important to me.”

South Carolina quarterback Jake Bentley touched on what it’s like having Muschamp as a head coach after the game, too.

“We all love Coach Muschamp. You can see that everyone on the Florida team that he coached did, too,” Bentley said via SEC Country. “He’s more than a head coach to us. Some people might think the head coach just kind of oversees everything, but he wants to know what’s going on with our life. He wants to know about our family.”

Last year, Florida beat Muschamp’s team 20-7 in Gainesville, which was his first return to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium since his firing in 2014. Even after the loss, Muschamp still went over to greet some of his former players, many of whom were celebrating Senior Day that Saturday:

Since Muschamp left Florida, he’s been nothing but class when talking about his former employer. He even had this to say when he was asked about Jim McElwain’s firing from Florida last month:

He even praised McElwain to recruits when he was hired to replace him.

You gotta love class like this from Muschamp.
