After a 14-point early lead, Arkansas couldn’t hold on against Mississippi State and fell 28-21. This TD with seconds left was the nail in the coffin for the Razorbacks.
Arkansas fought hard against Mississippi State, but it still probably doesn’t matter for Bret Bielema’s job security
The Hogs didn’t have enough against the Bulldogs.

It now guarantees a losing season for Arkansas, and this is likely the final nail in Bret Bielema’s coffin as well.
The Hogs have had a knack for being punchy when it seems Bielema’s back is against the wall. And it’s never been more against the wall than it was right here.
In the context of Arkansas’ season, it’s been a wild week for the program. Not only is Bret Bielema’s job security very much in jeopardy, but the program is in flux because they don’t currently have an athletic director after Jeff Long’s departure this week. But a win here probably still wouldn’t have been enough to save the embattled coach’s job, esspecially given the fact that the folks with the deep pocketbooks are already reportedly circling the wagons.
It’s likely a matter of when for Bielema, and not if.
