Please observe this exquisite Horns Down put on display by Texas Tech’s T.J. Vasher.
The Horns Down motion now draws an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty flag apparently
I thought this was America.

Flashing the disrespectful handsign is a tried and true tactic by Texas opponents.
What is a new thing is the zebras throwing a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct after it happens. I’ve never seen that happen, and there wasn’t even a throat slash with it. Vasher just put the inverted Horns up to fans in the end zone. This by rule is in the taunting family of infractions, but c’mon.
Easily the best thing about the Horns Down motion is that is that it drives Texas people insane. Mack Brown said the Big 12 should take action against the motion when he coached at Texas.
It seems that the league finally has if a directive has passed to flag players that do it. There is a very easy way to get the Horns Down to stop, however. Texas could just play better defense and start winning more games.
