This was a dollar sign at halftime of the Louisville-Kentucky game. This we know to be fact with visual evidence.
Kentucky’s band happens to form dollar sign, months after Louisville’s FBI scandal
It’s coincidental if nothing else.

What we don’t know, is why Kentucky’s band formed it beyond just the fact that is was part of the rivalry game’s halftime performance.
For the uninitiated, Louisville recently fired head coach Rick Pitino after the program was swept up in a wide-ranging FBI probe into college basketball cheating, centered mostly around money. There’s fuel for a nefarious rival to play with, and basketball runs so deep throughout the fanbase that it’s plausible that this is a backhanded reference to that under the guise of just playing a Bruno Mars song.
Things were already kinda chippy in Lexington. Early on in the game, Lamar Jackson was involved in a little tussle near the goal line.
Now, if this was the Stanford band I think we could more reliably infer that this is some sort of disrespect. The Stanford band has been notable for poking the bear for decades. But this seems much more benign in nature. It seems like this was just a coincidental thing. Maybe.
