A lot of people thought Gary Danielson dropped a NSFW word during LSU-Bama

While the announcer was saying “hit,” it came out a little funky.

During the CBS broadcast of Saturday night’s game between the LSU Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide, announcer Gary Danielson was talking about Tigers quarterback Myles Brennan, who came in for starter Danny Etling in the fourth quarter. Danielson said Etling “took a big hit” but when he did, he emphasized the h at the beginning, and the word sounded a whole lot like a curse word that rhymes with hit as a result.

There were a number of people who had the same reaction, thinking he said shit.

Ahh, the joys of broadcasting sometimes. To be fair to both sides here, it obviously sounded a whole lot like Danielson said it, but when listening to it over and over again a few times, you can here how he emphasizes the h at the beginning of the word, which easily could have caused it to have more of an “sh” sound coming out.

Danielson is a seasoned vet in the booth and most likely didn’t actually curse like it sounded, but this is obviously a funny situation he’s found himself in.
