ESPN’s preseason ad somehow predicted Jimbo Fisher not making it through the ULM game ... sort of

Incredible foresight.

1. Florida State is playing UL-Monroe on Saturday. The Noles will win and move to 6-6, extending their bowl streak to 36 years in an otherwise awful season. Good! This is a rescheduled game after an earlier matchup was postponed due to a hurricane.

2. FSU has an interim coach for that game, because Jimbo Fisher left on Friday to take the head coaching job at Texas A&M.

3. Here’s a clip from an actual, honest-to-goodness ESPN commercial from before the season.

Wait, is that a clay UL-Monroe fan blowing a clay Jimbo Fisher out of the frame? That’d be so weird if that were predicted in a commercial several months ago. Let’s enhance and see for ourselves.

Oh, yeah.

Confirmed: ESPN had a spot months ago that featured a UL-Monroe Warhawks fan getting Fisher out of the picture at Florida State. You couldn’t script this stuff, but the network did. Bravo on some psychic powers.

A hat tip to The Ringer’s Rodger Sherman for being the one to notice this:
