What should I know about the two teams in the Camping World Bowl?
Virginia Tech (9-3, 5-3 in ACC)
The Hokies got passed by Miami in the ACC Coastal this year, and the Canes’ resurgence poses a long-term problem for Virginia Tech. But Tech remained a quality team, propped up by one of the best defenses in the country. Bud Foster’s unit did a typically strong job, and the Hokies threw the ball well on offense, even with a freshman, Josh Jackson, at quarterback. There’s enough talent here for VT to do better in 2018 and beyond.
For now, though, another bowl game will do. The Hokies have now made one 25 years in a row, an incredible feat and a testament to what Frank Beamer built in Blacksburg.

Oklahoma State (9-3, 6-3 in Big 12)
The Cowboys have one of the best and most enjoyable offenses in the sport, and a defense that’s usually good enough to let that offense win games for it. Coach Mike Gundy has built something sustainable and great in Stillwater, and that’s now manifested itself in 12 straight bowl appearances since the Pokes missed out in Gundy’s first season, 2005. Dating back to Les Miles’ tenure at the helm, Oklahoma State’s made 15 bowls in 16 years. That’s not bad.
