His Airness, Michael Jordan, made a special football announcement during halftime of North Carolina’s matchup with Duke on the basketball court. The Tar Heels are getting a new look on the field.
Michael Jordan announced UNC football will be the 2nd team to wear Jordan Brand
Jumpman, jumpman, them Heels up to somethin’.

“We’re excited to partner with Michael Jordan – the greatest athlete of all-time – to bring the Jumpman into the Carolina football program,” says Fedora. “Michael’s impact on the University of North Carolina and the sports landscape in this state is incredible. Our partnership will bring us a greater association with MJ and his brand on the football field moving forward.”
Jordan spent the day on the campus of his alma mater, even hanging out with coach Larry Fedora.
The Tar Heels are now the second football team to be outfitted by the Jordan Brand on the football field. Michigan became the first in 2016, and Jordan was on hand at the Big House for the season opener of Jordan Brand maize and blue.
There are four teams that wear Jordan Brand uniforms in college basketball, and North Carolina is one of them. Now it’ll be the Jumpman logo on the football team’s already beautiful Carolina Blue duds.
There may be a subtle tweak to UNC’s look, but there probably won’t be too much altered, because before the 2015 academic year began all of North Carolina’s athletic programs got a rebrand to make a consistent look across all men’s and women’s teams. Jordan Brand is owned by Nike.
