4-star CB Kyler McMichael signs with Clemson, ending national recruitment
His surprise recruitment ends with the Tigers.

While he’s from Georgia, there are some significant Michigan ties in his family.
“My dad played at Eastern Michigan, we always grew up being Michigan fans. That’s the school we always watched,” McMichael told SB Nation’s Bud Elliott on Sunday.
But Michigan would not end up securing his services as the long-armed CB inked with Clemson today. He made a surprise commitment to Clemson in June.
McMichael has been considered a Clemson lean for a few weeks now, but his decision to announce came as sort of a surprise. Well not sort of… it was definitely pretty unexpected. McMichael very recently narrowed his top schools down to a group of 6 which he released on June 14th. McMichael then stated that he would like to visit all of his top schools at least once more for an overnight visit, before making his decision around possibly September or so. Then, just a few days ago out of the blue, rumors started to float around that McMichael was ready to make his decision.
Bigger DBs have become en vogue across college and pro football, and if you have the necessary blend of size and speed, it makes you a coveted prospect at this level. McMichael’s 6’1” frame (as measured at the Under Armour Georgia combine earlier this year) gets the job done there and most schools are targeting him as a cornerback.
