Cardale Jones graduates from Ohio State years after tweeting ‘we ain’t come to play school’

Congrats to the former Buckeye QB.

It’s been almost five years since former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Cardale Jones famously tweeted, when he was an OSU student at the time, that he “didn’t come to play school.” In case you forgot what the actual tweet was, Jones posted a screenshot of the tweet, which he deleted shortly after tweeting in 2012, on Instagram this week in honor of his Ohio State graduation weekend.

Fast forward five years, and Cardale is now officially an Ohio State graduate. Jones posted a photo of him in a cap and gown at his ceremony on Sunday, with his cap having a clever reference to the above tweet that caused such a stir in 2012.

A few months after Cardale’s initial “We ain’t come to here to play school” tweet, he seemed to have a change of heart, which is pretty typical, hilarious Cardale fashion. In January 2013, his Twitter expressed much more enthusiasm for going to classes in general.

Jones is entering his second year with the Buffalo Bills, having completed just six passes during his rookie season in 2016. The quarterback entered the 2016 NFL draft after his junior season, so he still had some classes to complete to get his degree.

Congrats to Cardale for continuing his education, and finding the motivation to get his credit hours in even after his OSU career ended. I can confidently say I don’t think I’d be able to do that after I started an NFL career, so kudos to you, Cardale!
