Late in the third quarter of Thursday’s Ohio State-Indiana game in Bloomington, the Hoosiers led, 21-20. Indiana fans chanted at the No. 2 Buckeyes: O-ver-ra-ted.

Don’t chant this until you’re pretty sure you’re gonna win.

The chants came down for at least the better part of a minute, according to audio picked up on ESPN’s broadcast. Then Ohio State scored four consecutive touchdowns and 29 unanswered points, ending the game in dominating fashion: 49-21, Bucks.
Indiana led at halftime, 14-13, and there was nothing superficial about it. The Hoosiers out-gained the Buckeyes by 80 yards in the first half, and time of possession and yards per play were almost exactly even. The two teams were basically neck-and-neck, though Indiana made a huge error when Richard Lagow threw an interception at the goal line to Ohio State’s Jordan Fuller in the second quarter.
What could’ve been a 14-3 game became a 7-6 Hoosier lead after an OSU field goal, keeping the teams tight. The wheels fell off in the second half, as they usually do for the Hoosiers, and IU fans ended up like this:
Thursday brought an unusual football spotlight for Indiana. The Hoosiers hosted College GameDay for the first time in their history, and Memorial Stadium was raucous all night — until that time late in the third when OSU started destroying.
