Florida punter Johnny Townsend deserves the Heisman Trophy after this; I’ll just come out and be the first one to say it. In the first quarter, Townsend nailed a 61-yard punt after the Gators went three-and-out on their first possession. But that’s not the interesting part.
Watch Florida’s punter completely annihilate this Kentucky defender
This dude got laid out, folks.

Let’s go through this step by step, shall we?
After the punt sailed downfield, Townsend was double-teamed by two Kentucky defenders on the return, which Townsend said they did all game.
Townsend kept fighting to get downfield, and he finally got one defender away from him before completely destroying the other one, then heading downfield.
This is absolutely beautiful work by Townsend here.
Last week, the senior conveniently reminded Tennessee after Florida beat the Vols on a last-second Hail Mary that at the very least, the Vols were still champions of life:
Townsend has been a weapon for Florida’s special teams for four seasons, and he’s currently averaging 51 yards per punt so far this season — this one for 61 yards is his longest punt of the year. Hopefully he keeps tweeting gems like these, too.
