The No. 9 Texas Longhorns have come a long way since an embarrassing Week 1 loss to Maryland, and are heavily favored against the also-surprising Baylor Bears for their matchup on Saturday. The game will begin at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN (live streaming via WatchESPN) from Royal Texas Memorial Stadium.

Baylor is an upset-minded team, but can they take down Texas on Saturday?

Texas has rattled off five straight wins since their loss to Maryland, including wins over then-No. 22 USC, then-No. 17 TCU and in their last outing, then-No. 7 Oklahoma. The game against Oklahoma was very close, with Texas barely edging them out, 48-45. They have one more ranked opponent remaining on their schedule in No. 6 WVU.
Baylor has also been good this season, but not good enough to beat Duke in Week 3 or Oklahoma in Week 5. They escaped their last game, against Kansas State, with a narrow 37-34 victory.
Below is all you need to know going into Saturday.
Baylor vs. Texas prediction
According to the latest S&P+ projections, Baylor is worth just 1.2 points, and is ranked 64th in the nation, down 10 spots from last week. Texas, on the other hand, comes in at 8.3 points, 38th in the nation — also a drop, this one for eight spots.
This means that, theoretically, Texas would have a 7.1-point advantage on a neutral field. It’ll be a home game for the Longhorns, and though they have defied our expectations (in the wrong ways) at times this season, they really should win on Saturday.
