Ole Miss and their wide receivers adopted the moniker “Nasty Wide Outs” back in 2017, and perfectly paired it with a championship belt to celebrate with on the sidelines during games.
Ole Miss’ nWo championship belt is back and still glorious
“Nasty Wide Outs” reside in Oxford.

The Rebels are still using it, and it came out early against Texas Tech on Saturday as the two teams opened up the season at NRG Stadium in Houston after a D.K. Metcalf 58-yard touchdown:
The Rebels determine a champion from week to week, but it’s ultimately decided how wide receivers coach Jacob Peeler is feeling. He’ll even tweet out the champion, it’s no small occasion.
Last year Peeler told the Clarion Ledger, “It’s a camaraderie deal. It’s our identity basically,” Peeler said. ”It’s within our group. It’s our own fraternity with the team. I introduced it the first night I got here.”
He added, “Every week it’s going to be somebody different. It’s just the way this offense is built, depending on the coverage they’re playing, how they adjust to you. You never know ... it depends on what Shea feels in terms of coverage and the timing. Your number may be called, it may be not.”
Assortments of belts, chains, beads, or even planks aren’t rare on college football sidelines anymore. But they’re usually for the defense, and turnovers that they make.
Ole Miss is now in their second year of wide receiver glorification, and you should be here for it.
