The USC Trojans thought they had two points and a safety against the Texas Longhorns on Saturday, but this sack of Sam Ehlinger was ruled to be out of the end zone:
USC thought they had a clear safety against Texas, but officials disagreed

Trojans linebacker Porter Gustin tackled Ehlinger in the end zone, but the Texas quarterback lunged forward trying to get the ball over the goal line. The referees ruled that he did, and after replay review the call was upheld.
USC’s argument was two-fold: either Ehlinger’s knee was down first with the ball well in the end zone (though that wasn’t clear on replay), or when his elbow was down the ball wasn’t fully out of the end zone.
“You can piece together to see the knee is down, but when you look here the elbow is down and the whole ball has to get out,” said FOX analyst and former NFL referee Mike Pereira on the broadcast. “Really, that was a safety.”
Without those two points they thought they had, USC trails Texas 16-14 at halftime.
