JD Vance fumbled Ohio State’s College Football Championship trophy, and couldn’t play it cool

Welp.

The Ohio State Buckeyes were at the White House on Monday to celebrate winning the College Football National Championship and it didn’t take long for everything to go horribly wrong courtesy of vice president JD Vance.

Vance, who is a self-professed Buckeyes fan, obviously hasn’t watched enough college football to know that the championship trophy is in two parts with the top itself not being connected to the base. It’s a bit of an awkward construction, but still led to him fumbling the trophy in hilarious fashion, with the base plummeting to the ground and the team not trusting him enough to hold it all.

At that point he was just given the top of the trophy, where he held it like a kid at show and tell while everyone stared at him awkwardly.

Is this an extended metaphor for everything happening right now? I’ll let you decide.
