College Hockey schedule 2012: No. 1 Boston College faces No. 4 Minnesota Sunday

New Hampshire takes on Dartmouth in another top 10 matchup.

Douglas Jones-US PRESSWIRE

Top-ranked Boston College squares off against No. 4 Minnesota in the final of the Mariucci Classic to highlight the Sunday college hockey schedule. Boston College (11-2-1) has struggled recently, going just 2-1-1 in its last four games. Nevertheless, the Eagles maintain their stranglehold on the top spot in the national ratings. They had little trouble handling Alabama-Huntsville in the tournament’s opening game Saturday. Minnesota (11-3-3), the tournament host, has won six of its last eight games, including a 4-0 shutout of Air Force Saturday.

In other action, No. 2 New Hampshire (11-2-2) travels to No. 10 Dartmouth (7-2-2) as part of the Ledyard Bank Classic. Quinnipiac (12-3-2), which has risen into the USCHO top ten, hosts No. 12 Nebraska-Omaha (11-6-1). Thirteenth-ranked Union (8-3-4) takes on Merrimack (4-4-1) in Burlington, Vt. in a Catamount Cup game.

Finally, the Great Lakes Invitational comes to a close, with Michigan State (4-8-1) taking on rival Michigan (4-7-2) and eighth-ranked Western Michigan (11-4-1) facing off against Michigan Tech (3-8-3).
