The fourth ODI between India and England ended in a tie at the Lord’s after rain and Duckworth-Lewis played their bit in conspiring for the second such result between the two teams in the year. Earlier, India and England were involved in a tie in the World Cup 2011.
England V India 4th ODI At Lord’s: Match Tied After Rains Come Down
India and England tied the fourth game of the series after rains came down in the penultimate over of the match.

Chasing 281 for a win, the English side would have fancied their chances of winning the game with the score reading 270 for the loss of six wickets with nine balls to spare. However, the run-out of Graeme Swann and then, the dismissal of the well-set Ravi Bopara (96), to a slower ball from Munaf Patel meant that not only had England wasted two balls and scored no run, but the target had also increased according to the Duckworth-Lewis system.
This left England to make 11 off the last seven balls, but at the same stage, it begun to pour rather heavily and the players had to walk away. The play did not resume and at that stage, the scores were level - a result that stayed because the rain did not relent.
