Venue: M Chinnaswamy in Bangalore
Date: September 29, 2011
Time: 2000 hours local time, 1430 hours GMT onwards
The Royal Challengers Bangalore v Kolkata Knight Riders Champions League T20, 2011 match will be shown live on Star Cricket in India.
Previous Results:
Bangalore played the first game of the tournament a week ago and went down in a thriller to the Warriors. Since then, they have been surprisingly unoccupied, even as most other teams have played two games apiece.
Kolkata Knight Riders, who had qualified for this tournament through a playoff, have lost both their opening games. They went down to Somerset and were outplayed by the South Australian Redbacks yesterday. They are almost out of the tournament and will be playing for either some pride or for a miracle.
Key Players:
Bangalore will need Chris Gayle to fire. What could work against them is the one week break which would have limited the momentum for most of the batsmen including Gayle. The West Indian had looked good in the opening encounter till he got out.
Kolkata’s captain Gautam Gambhir has had a torrid time in the tournament so far and needs to get a move on if the side has to put the runs on the board.
And they will miss...
Bangalore will be without AB de Villiers, who will be going back home with a broken bone. Dilshan should take his place. On the other hand, Kolkata are missing a fifth bowler; after Lee, Abdulla, Shakib and Bhatia, the side is generally struggling to get going. And if the Bangalore track is more true than it was for the Mumbai game, Bhatia may not find his bearings either.
Prediction:
Bangalore should win this game at home.
