For two games in a row, the tactical acumen of Daren Ganga when under pressure, has been under siege and unfortunately for him, on both the occasions, his side, Trinidad and Tobago has been on the losing end of the result.
New South Wales Blues Snatch Win Over Trinidad And Tobago After Tied Game
New South Wales snatched a win from the jaws of a defeat against Trinidad and Tobago in the Champions League T20 game at Chennai.

In what turned out to be another exciting encounter, going right down to the wire, New South Wales Blues forced a tie against the Trinidad and Tobago side, before winning the match in the Super Over by three runs to notch up their first Champions League T20 win. The Caribbean side now have lost both their games, after having earlier gone down to Mumbai Indians off the last ball of the game.
In that game, Ganga seemed to have made a grave blunder by not calling the field up with the Mumbai Indians needing two for a win. As a result, the side was able to flick the ball to within the circle and get the couple they needed, relegating the Trinidad and Tobago to a loss.
Against the Blues, they needed to defend 17 in the last over but some strange field settings and resistance to adopt a horses-for-courses tactic pushed them to another defeat.
Moises Henriques was the batsman, who flicked the first two balls of the last over from Ravi Rampaul to the fence. Strangely enough, Rampaul continued to bowl from around the wicket right through the over, and then in the Super Over as well, allowing them to get away.
After those two fours, Trinidad and Tobago still had a chance when only a single came off the third ball but more importantly got number 10 batsman, Patrick Cummins on strike. A brace and a boundary off the next two pushed the game into exactly the same situation as the Mumbai Indians encounter – two needed from the last ball. Cummins got a single to take the game into the Super Over, even as a grumbling Rampaul walked back in a huff. Not the kind of bowler then, you would want your Super Over to be bowled.
That is precisely what happened, and a now pumped up Henriques took full toll of it by getting 18 runs off that Rampaul over to put the game away from the Trinidad and Tobago’s reach.
Earlier, Trinidad and Tobago had scored 139/6 in their 20 overs thanks Lendl Simmons’ innings of 41. They now have no wins from the two games they have played while the Blues have won one from two.
