Zimbabwe continued on its giant killing spree as it once again defeated South Africa in the finals of the tri nations T20 tournament. The event albeit an unofficial one, gave a glimpse of the improvement Zimbabwe has made since its readmission in top flight cricket.
South Africa after winning the toss chose to bat first. Thanks to an innings of 66 from Du Plessis and a quick fire knock of 33 by Albie Morkel they reached 146 in their quota of overs.
In reply, Zimbabwe cruised to the target as Masakadza hit yet another half century and received good support from Sibanda. Brendan Taylor joined forces with Masakadza after the fall of first wicket and
stroked himself to 59 undefeated. The bowling attack of Tsotsobe,Peterson et al was once again put to the sword.
Hamilton Masakadza was adjudged the Payer of the Series for his heavy scoring while captain and wicket keeper batsman Brendan Taylor won the Player of the Match award.
