Kevin Pietersen in the news for all the wrong reasons, spoke out yet again. And in a Shahid Afridiesque fashion, wants to come out of his ODI retirement. Probably emboldened by his innings of 234* for Surrey in the County Championship, Pietersen said that he looked forward to get selected for the T20 World Cup and continue to play in all formats of the game for at least three to four more years.

The superstar seems to have had meetings and discussions with the board on his imminent return to the shorter formats of the game. Kevin claimed that he had not been looked after properly by the English Board, and that he still wanted them to allow him adequate rest between matches. His return to all forms of the game came with a caveat however. He has asked the board to allow him to play the entire duration of the IPL, even if it clashes with international commitments.

The coach of the English team, Andy Flower however remains non-plussed by the distraction. In his address to the press he said he stated that according to him the situation had not changed, and a way back for Pieteresen into the T20 team cannot materialise. The national selector in-charge of the preliminary squad for the T20 World Cup however was ready to welcome the batsman back into the fold, if he was fully committed to all the three formats of the game.
