The 2013 Giro d’Italia will move past the halfway point on Wednesday as riders are back on the course for Stage 11 of the 21-stage race. Wednesday’s stage will feature a couple of climbs, but the terrain won’t be as challenging as Tuesday’s high-mountain stage.

A day after the first high-mountain stage, riders will face a slightly lesser challenge in Stage 11.

The 182-kilometer stage will begin in Tarvisio and end in Vajont. Stage 11 features a significant climb midway through the race, but it’s gradual and shouldn’t be much of a challenge for the top riders. Stage 11 doesn’t end with summit finish, but the riders will climb the final seven kilometers, possibly providing an interesting finish.
Vincenzo Nibali is still the GC leader, but after winning Stage 10, Sky’s Rigoberto Uran is in third place and is now in position to take a share of the team’s leadership with Bradley Wiggins. Wiggins has had some issues through the first 10 stages and it may not be long before Uran is leading the way for Sky.
The stage will begin 6:35 a.m. ET. Live television coverage of the day’s stage will begin at 9:30 a.m. on beIN Sport, a channel that is broadcast by most of the big American carriers, including Comcast, Dish Network, DirecTV and Verizon FiOS.
