The sprinters are licking their chops for Thursday’s short, flat Stage 12.

The stage runs just 134 km (83 miles) and, save for a couple of short climbs, slowly makes its way downhill toward the Adriatic coast. Thursday’s leg is the first one-star stage since Stage 6, and serves as a brief respite before two brutal mountain stages on Saturday and Sunday. Expect high speeds and a sprint to the finish Thursday.
After Wednesday’s Stage 11, Vincenzo Nibali maintained his 41-second advantage over Cadel Evans in the overall race. Sky teammates Rigoberto Uran Uran and Bradley Wiggins sit just over two minutes behind the leader, with Robert Gesink, Michele Scarponi, and Mauro Santambrogio all within three minutes.
Eurosport and ESPN Deportes will provide live coverage of Thursday’s action. Program schedules and streaming video options are provided by Steephill.tv.
