Andre Greipel claimed victory in Stage 6 of the 2014 Tour de France on Thursday when he beat Michal Kwiatkowski to the finish line in Reims. Kwiatkowski had the end in his sight with about 2 kilometers left, but as the race came down to the last 300 meters, he didn’t have enough to stave off Greipel, who took the win in 4 hours, 11 minutes and 39 seconds.
Tour de France 2014 results and standings, Stage 6: Andre Greipel sprints to victory
Greipel claimed the stage win, but Vincenzo Nibali still wears yellow after the sixth day.

Stage 6 was a 194-kilometer flat ride from Arras to Reims with just two climbs, both just category 4 and neither longer than 1.5 kilometers in distance. There were a couple of crashes over the last 80 kilometers or so, which forced three riders to withdraw from the race.
The stage, though, didn’t change the overall classification. Vincenzo Nibali finished with the same time as Greipel for the day and has a 2-second lead over Jakob Fuglsang for the yellow jersey. Nibali and Fuglsang are part of Astana Pro Team, which currently leads the team classification with a time of 73 hours, 56 minutes and 23 seconds. Peter Sagan, 44 seconds behind Nibali in the general classification, leads the points classification with 217. Bryan Coquard is second with 137 points.
