After a Stage 7 that included with one of the closest finishes possible in any type of competitive racing, the Tour de France heads into Stage 8, which features a large climb at its end. The day will start in Tomblaine and end in Gerardmer La Mauselaine.
Tour de France 2014, Stage 8: Route, TV schedule and more
The eighth stage of the 2014 Tour de France is set for Saturday.


The 161-kilometer stretch is roughly 70 kilometers shorter than the Stage 7 route, and it’s relatively flat for the first 130 kilometers. However, the end features a very large climb, along with a couple of other peaks to finish the day. The starting line has an elevation of 189 meters, while the route maxes out at 901 meters at the 150-kilometer mark and finishes at 859 meters. Here’s a look at the route, via the Tour’s website:

The Tour will be broadcast on NBCSN from noon ET to 2:30 p.m. It will also be replayed on NBCSN from midnight to 3 a.m. and the following morning from 6 a.m. through 8 a.m.
