The 2014 Tour de France has a new yellow jersey leader on Sunday with Tony Gallopin taking the overall lead from Vincenzo Nibali. Gallopin was part of a group of 18 riders that finished two minutes and 45 seconds behind stage winner Tony Martin. That was enough to close the gap on Nibali, who finished seven minutes and 46 seconds behind Martin, and to jump from 11th to first.
Tour de France 2014 results and standings, Stage 9: Tony Gallopin gains yellow jersey on Sunday
A Frenchman wears the yellow jersey heading into Bastille Day on Monday.

Gallopin holds a one minute and 34 second lead on Nibali, with Tiago Machado, Jakob Fuglsang and Richie Porte rounding out the top five.
For Martin, this stage victory marked his first Tour win that was not on an individual time trial. Martin found his stride with 59 kilometers to go, breaking away from Alessandro De Marchi on the Markstein, a 10.8-kilometer category 1 climb.
Martin’s victory may be good news for his fellow countrymen playing in the World Cup Final on Sunday. On July 8, 1990, Olaf Ludwig won Stage 8 of the Tour on the same day the West Germans defeated Argentina, 1-0, for the World Cup title.
This route, which ran from Gérardmer to Mulhouse, leads into the first mountain stage of the Tour on Monday. Stage 10 begins in Mulhouse, features seven climbs (six rated at category 1 or 2), and ends in La Planche des Belles Filles before a rest day.
