The riders in the Tour de France are getting very close to a rest day, but before they do, they will have to navigate a difficult Stage 10. The stage will take the riders 161.5 km, traveling from Mulhouse to La Planche des Belles Filles. The stage has been a pivotal one in the past and could be so again this season.

The race is the final of three stages in the Vosges mountains and it may be the hardest of the three. Riders will have to handle seven categorized climbs including four category 1 climbs. To make it even more of a challenge, there is very little flat ground between each climb, almost creating a roller-coaster-like layout. The four category 1 climbs are paired with two back-to-back early on in the race and the final two back-to-back to end the stage. With the long climbs coming near the finish, the day could be one for the climbers.

Tony Gallopin will begin the stage with the yellow jersey after overtaking it in Stage 9. He may not hold it long, however, with some of the better climbers expected to make a strong run. Alberto Contador will begin the day in ninth place and is considered a strong contender to win the stage.

NBCSN will once again provide live coverage with the broadcast scheduled to run from 7 a.m. to noon ET. Viewers will also be able to watch the coverage live with a simulcast stream from NBC Sports LiveExtra. Users with a subscription to Tour de France Live will have even more options to follow along including live video and GPS tracking.
