There are 13 teams that have yet to score a stage win thus far in the Tour de France, and with most of the sprinters intact following brutal climbs over the past few days, Stage 19 on Friday could be interesting. The field as a whole should be sporting some very tired legs, but the high mountain stages are a thing of the past, which has to be a relief for most.

Stage 19 is relatively flat and favors sprinters, unlike the last few stages, which featured huge climbs.


Friday’s stage sports a relatively flat profile, which, again, is a big break from recent stages. It will take riders from Maubourguet Pays du Val d’Adour through Bergerac, and it’s among the tamer stages of the tour. There’s a bit of lumpy terrain throughout, and there’s talk of rain on the day, which would complicate things. But guys like Marcel Kittel and John Degenkolb, among the fastest on tour, will be looking to attack, attack and attack some more.
