Formula-E driver flips into tire barriers

A driver flipping on the final lap marked the debut of the Formula-E series.

Formula-E, an electric open-wheel series, made its debut Saturday and did so in a spectacular way.

Nick Heidfeld and Nicolas Prost were racing for the lead on the final lap when contact between the two sent Heidfeld into a spin where he catapulted off a curb and cockpit-first into a tire barrier. Heidfeld landed upside down, but emerged uninjured.

An enraged Heidfeld then ran over (1:10 mark in the video below) to confront Prost, the son of four-time Formula One World Champion Alain Prost.
