British Grand Prix 2016 results: Full finishing order for Formula 1 race
Lewis Hamilton won, Nico Rosberg came in second and Max Verstappen rounded out the podium finishers at the British Grand Prix from Silverstone on Sunday.

Hamilton once trailed by over 40 points, but after Sunday he will be just four points behind his teammate. Rosberg nearly had to settle for third after Max Verstappen of Red Bull pushed him for most of the race. Rosberg eventually overtook Verstappen, but nearly was overtaken himself when he had gearbox issues in the final five laps.
But Verstappen had to save his tires and was unable to pass Rosberg, finishing in third. Kimi Räikkönen of Ferrari moved into third place in the Drivers’ Championship standings after finishing in fifth, just behind Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull.
Force India had a great session, with Sergio Pérez and Nico Hülkenberg finishing in sixth and seventh place, respectively. Carlos Sainz of Toro Rosso, Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari and Daniil Kvyat of Toro Rosso rounded out the top 10 finishers for the race.
It was a rough day of driving for the Manor Racing Team. Shortly after the start of the race (after the safety car), Pascal Wehrlein spun out and went off the track and was out of the race. That drew a virtual safety car, and Manor was down to just Rio Haryanto. Unfortunately, on lap 26, Haryanto crashed out of the race as well, though he was well off the track and a safety car was not required, ending the day for Manor.
On lap 20, Romain Grosjean of the American-owned Haas F1 team found himself out of the race after engine problems. Marcus Ericsson of Sauber also found himself out of the race early due to an engine problem, retiring in the pits. Ericsson also had a nasty crash in the third practice session that required him to be hospitalized, so it was definitely not his weekend.
Jolyon Palmer of Renault had his car retired on lap 40, which was a massive disappointment. It was already a rough race for Palmer, who lost a ton of time after his pit crew released him without a right rear tire on his car earlier in the race. They had to push him back to the pit box, and he lost a ton of time. He eventually became the fifth car to retire from the race.
It was Palmer’s third retirement in the last five races.
The Williams team had a rough race, with both Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas finishing outside the points. Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button also finished outside the points for McLaren. Esteban Gutiérrez finished in last place among those who actually finished the race, with Kevin Magnussen retiring late.
