Ferrari earned its first one-two finish of the season on Sunday, with Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen finishing first and second in the Monaco Grand Prix. Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull managed to take third place thanks to a fortunate pit stop.
F1 2017: New points standings after Monaco Grand Prix
Ferrari has taken the lead in the Constructors’ Championship with a one-two finish in Monaco.

Ricciardo finished just ahead of Valtteri Bottas of Mercedes in fourth. His teammate, Max Verstappen, finished fifth. Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes ended up finishing seventh on the grid.
Hamilton entered Sunday’s race six points behind Vettel in the Drivers’ Championship standings. He had little chance of closing that gap when he got bounced in the second qualifying session due to yellow flags on his final flying lap. Hamilton started Sunday’s race from 13th on the grid.
Jenson Button started his first race of the season, filling in for Fernando Alonso in the Honda-powered McLaren. Button qualified ninth-fastest but was given a grid penalty for engine changes, and he started from the back of the grid.
McLaren went to Monaco as the only team without points. The team didn’t get out of that position though, when Button and Pascal Wehrlein collided in the final third of the race. The collision caused both cars to stop, with Wehrlein’s tipping onto its side up against the barrier.
Unfortunately, Stoffel Vandoorne stopped not long after that for McLaren, suffering engine failure. Marcus Ericsson, also of Sauber, found himself crashing into the barriers not long after his teammate went out on top of that, ending a disastrous day for both teams.
Force India has performed above expectations this season, but both cars struggled big time this race. Sergio Perez, who has become a usual sight finishing in the points, suffered front wing damage and also had some heat issues with his engine.
His teammate, Esteban Ocon, suffered a puncture midway through the race. Both drivers were close to the points near the end, but poor track conditions and some racing incidents caused both to finish outside the points, giving Force India none in the Constructors’ Championship.
