The Formula One Azerbaijan Grand Prix is set for Sunday, and it should be a good one from the streets of the Baku City Circuit. Mercedes have a front-row lockout with, as usual, the Ferrari cars, cementing the front four between the two teams. Lewis Hamilton has the top spot after a stellar qualifying lap on Saturday.

Mercedes have a front row lockout for the Formula One race in Baku, and here’s how you can watch on TV and online.

Sunday’s race begins at 9 a.m. ET and will be broadcast by NBCSN in the United States. A livestream will also be available online via NBC Sports in web browsers and via the NBC Sports app for various connected smart devices.
Hamilton leads his teammate, Valtteri Bottas, on the front row. Kimi Raikkonen of Ferrari is in third and Sebastian Vettel, the current leader in the Drivers Championship, is in fourth. Hamilton is second and trails Vettel by a handful of points.
It’s expected to be a messy race. It’s the second year that they’re racing on the circuit, and the first didn’t feature many crashes. But it’s a narrow, tough track and it’s hard to pass on.
“I think it is a track that normally with this type of track things will happen so my guess is that we’re going to see a bit more of a mess than maybe before but who knows,” said Bottas after qualifying on Saturday.
The McLaren cars, driven by Fernando Alonso and Stoffel Vandoorne, will try to keep out of such incidents. Bad luck has followed the team all season with the Honda engines suffering a myriad of reliability issues. In addition to the long list of failures, the cars simply can’t compete at the top of the pack.
Alonso, a two-time champion and widely considered to be wasting his later years in the sport with McLaren, complained about Ricciardo spoiling one of his laps in qualifying. Alonso said he wasn’t upset with Ricciardo though, and that the McLaren is so slow he understands if others thought he might be on an out lap rather than a proper qualifying run.
“I think the start of the lap probably they get confused, because our speed is that slow, that they think probably we go to the pit lane, we are in a slow lap,” Alonso said. “But no, this is our speed, we are starting a timed lap, is the way it is. I think they get surprised a little bit. They overtake me in the first corner, I overtake them in the second corner, and we both lose the laps, yesterday and today.”
Vandoorne will start 18th and Alonso will start 19th, ahead of only Jolyon Palmer, who did not participate in qualifying due to issues with his Renault engine. Vandoorne and Alonso both were handed grid penalties, totaling 70 places altogether.
